The evil one would like nothing more than to think a virus could cancel Easter. Whether we are still living in a culture of social distancing or not, Easter is three weeks away and nothing will prevent Christians from celebrating the resurrected Christ. Our faith doesn’t need a building. Our faith needs a heart that desires to live a life pleasing to God. It may appear to the world that while remaining in our homes, we are living in a state of solitude and fear. However, Satan is only given the power that believers allow for him to have over their lives. In other words, we don't have to be afraid. The Spirit in us is far greater than the spirit of this world. Jesus made it perfectly clear that we would have trouble in this world. Yet, He also stated,
“But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Neither death nor disease can rob us of the joy and the promise of our salvation; one day we will live in eternity where viruses don't exist! This year as we celebrate the greatest moment of the Christian faith, with or without a building, my prayer is many lives will be transformed. Non-believers will marvel at our joy and hope in God who uses the worst of evil to do the greatest works in the heart of His children. Easter will be celebrated because Easter lives in us.
Get ready for the greatest celebration ever! It’s right around the corner.
